During the event, we will present an overview of the energy poverty concept and discuss the new EU rules for energy efficiency within the fit-for-55 package.

Scaling up energy efficiency renovations of multi-apartment buildings to alleviate energy poverty in Eastern Europe through knowledge transfer between EU member states and countries in the Eastern Neighborhood and Western Balkans

The New European Bauhaus encompasses a multidisciplinary approach to the challenge of sustainable and equitable living. This conference showcases projects (financed through the LIFE and Horizon 2020 programmes) working on different aspects of the transformation necessary for a carbon-neutral 2050.

The event will bring together EU, national and local stakeholders to discuss how EU policies and EPAH are stepping up energy poverty alleviation efforts, particularly as just transition commitments are bolstered by the Fit for 55 Package and as the current high price environment requires particular attention to the needs of the energy poor and vulnerable consumers.

Speakers will present best practices from the region that successfully tackle energy poverty and lead renovation of residential buildings. Best practices will be connected to scaling up the financing for residential energy efficiency and provision of technical assistance to homeowner associations. Discussion will follow on the challenges and bottlenecks that were successfully overcome in the projects and on the learnings for future.
