The POWERTY project is organising its third online Interregional Thematic Seminar, hosted by the Agglomeration Opole Trust (AOT) in Poland. The virtual workshop will focus on how to engage local authorities and citizens to raise awareness of the problem of energy poverty and to create systemic solutions beneficial for vulnerable groups. Citizen participation and community co-ownership schemes play an increasingly societal role by fostering citizens ’participation in energy matters and raising acceptance of renewable energy. They can bring tremendous benefits for citizens and communities by placing them closer to the energy transition and fulfilling Europe’s decarbonisation goals.
Day 1 will be on social innovation for the energy transition to tackle energy poverty, and Day 2 will look at good practices for empowering citizens and local authorities.
The agenda features speakers from the Andalusian Energy Agency, Greenpeace, Schneider Electric Bulgaria, COOPERASE among others, and will also include networking and a virtual study visit to the Opole Voivodeship modular housing.
The online event is going to be presented in English, vía ZOOM.
