Launch of Poverty Watch 2020 – views from the ground on the impacts of covid on poverty

The Poverty Watches start from the reality of people experiencing poverty and the perspectives of NGOs who work with them. With poverty predicted to rise to at least levels seen in the 2008 crisis, and the EU Action Plan on the European Pillar of Social Rights and Recovery and Resilience Plans around the corner, the time is now to get poverty elimination right.

The event, hosted online by MEPs Cindy Franssen and Marisa Matias, will hear about realities and recommendations from our members in Belgium, Portugal, Slovenia and in the International Federation of Social Workers. MEPs and the Commission will respond and together we will discuss ways forward.
